Goldmine Crochet Projects

One Yarn + One Hook = Three Great Projects

Ever been in a store and yarn starts calling to you? Oh wait, who am I talking to? OF COURSE that happens. Probably all the time. Well, this time the call was a bit stronger than usual. I was shopping at my local hobby store to pick up stuff for the holidays. I told myself I WILL NOT BUY ANY MORE YARN. But - no surprise - I found myself in the yarn section.

I wandered around a bit looking at everything but suddenly the one yarn jumped out at me. It was the colors and the textures and the general chunkiness that got me. As I approached I secretly hoped it would be super scratchy so my yarn-crush would disappear, but it wasn't. It was soft.

Before I knew it 10 skeins jumped into my cart. I sort of giggled a bit as I checked out. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, but it was mine, all mine.

Once I got home I petted it a bit. I knew I could make an afghan but this stuff was just too good for the world not to see it. I decided to make a scarf. Then another. Then a shawl. What's great about this yarn is that it is a blast to work with, so projects just glide off your hook.

I ended up making three items - all with a Q hook. The two scarfs too one evening while the shawl took a few evenings. No matter which project you choose, all will be fantastic gifts - IF you can bear to part with them!

Below is the pattern for each scarf. These are super easy. Have fun! And Happy Hooking!
