The Easiest Crochet Hat Ever by Sharpin Designs

The Easiest Crochet Hat Ever

Since I've started teaching crochet to beginners, I've been on the lookout for simple patterns that work up quickly with lots of photos. Most of the time the students don't finish the project during the class and I want them to have great instructions so they can finish on their own. Also, I like to teach them something other than the traditional wash cloth or scarf.

In my searches I found a fabulous pattern by the Make & Do Crew for The Easiest Crochet Hat Ever. It's a free pattern that you an find here, or you can get a PDF version that is ad free for a few bucks - well worth it!

This is truly one of the easiest patterns I have ever come across and it yields fantastic results.

For my sample, I used Be Wool in Yogurt and an L hook. Since Be Wool is super bulky instead of bulky, I used an L-sized hook and chained on 29. I then worked the pattern until I got to 20 inches. The result - perfection! I love a hat that has body to it but is still soft. To top it off I added on of my hand-made faux-fur pom poms.

I think these will make fantastic gifts since they work up quickly (1-2 hours). The hat looks great for a man too if you leave the pom pom off.

Get busy and post a pic of you wearing yours!

Craft Joy!
