Coasters - Free Pattern Alert!!
These cute and functional coasters make great seasonal décor. Make a few or make a hundred. They work up fast and make great gifts. Not a fan of pumpkins? Make apples instead!
Materials:
- Size 4.00/H hook
- DK yarn in Orange, Green, and Brown – I like Cascade 220 and Ultra Wool
- Embroidery needle to weave in ends
Instructions:
Pumpkin: Worked in Rounds
- R01: 6 SC in magic circle (6 stitches).
- R02: 2 SC in each stitch around (12 stitches). Place stitch marker at beginning of round.
- R03: (2 SC in next stitch, 1 SC in next stitch) repeat 5 times (18 stitches).
- R04: (2 SC in next stitch, 1 SC in next 2 stitches) repeat 5 times (24 stitches).
- R05: (2 SC in next stitch, 1 SC in next 3 stitches) repeat 5 times (30 stitches).
- R06: (1 SC in next 2 stitches, 2 SC in next stitch, 1 SC in next 2 stitches) repeat 5 times (36 stitches).
- R07: (1 SC in next 4 stitches, 2 SC in next stitch, 1 SC in next stitch) repeat 5 times (42 stitches).
- R08: (2 SC in next stitch, 1 SC in next 7 stitches) repeat 5 times (48 stitches).
- Finish off. Weave in tails.
Stem: Worked in Rows
- R01: Chain 6. SC in 2nd chain from end and across (5 stitches). Chain 1, Turn.
- R02: SC across (5 stitches). Chain 1, Turn.
- R03-R04: Repeat R02. On last row finish off and weave in tails.
- With orange yarn, attach the stem to the pumpkin.
Leaf: Worked in Rounds
- R01: Chain 6. Chain 1, Turn.
- R02: Work 2SC in each stitch. Chain 1, Turn.
- R03: Work 2 SC in each stitch. Finish off. Use tail to attach to pumpkin near the stem.
