Scarf Vest Crochet Pattern by Sharpin Designs

Beyond the Rectangle

When you first learn to crochet, knit, weave, etc., you spend a lot of time making scarfs. The good part is that this is an effective way to perfect your technique and learn new stitches. The bad news is that you end up with a lot of scarfs. Eventually even friends and family get tired of receiving those items as gifts.

What I have for you is a technique guide that shows you how to take two rectangles and join them together to create a scarf-vest. It's easy to do and only requires a bit of whip stitching to join the edges. Not only can you use this with knit, crochet, tunisian crochet, freeform, weaving, etc., you can also vary the yarn and stitches to make it truly unique and interesting. Plus, you can add beads, fringe, etc. to make each piece special.

The pattern is available on this site, on Etsy, and on Ravelry. I know I'll be making a ton of these, especially as I work to perfect my knitting skills.
