Sharpin Designs Studio Space

An Inspiring Space

Sometimes you just have to stop . . . and ORGANIZE!

I admit, I have a lot of stuff for my various hobbies. Between the beadweaving, clay, jewelry making, sewing, crocheting, and knitting, the yarn takes up the most space - by far. My beads, clay, and jewelry making supplies all stay safely tucked away in their little places. The fabrics and threads also seem to mind their designated spaces very well. But the yarn? It just misbehaves. In fact, I think it may reproduce while i'm not looking, because I'm positive I'm not buying any (yeah, right)!

I don't necessarily mind a messy studio space, but in my case, I also share the space with my home office. So, I have to keep it tidy.

I decided a few weeks ago to try and find a different way to organize my yarn stash because stuffing the skeins in random places just was not working any more. Also, I waned to be able to walk into my room and be inspired. Here are my results so far. I still have some more to clean up, but I'm off to a good start.

The Inspire, Family, and Home signs came from my shopping trip to Magnolia earlier this month. I also picked up the flower pot that is holding the tin flowers. I use two cake stands to hold my WIPs and keep them on my credenza, which holds all my solid color size 4 yarns. My bookshelves hold the variegated and "special" yarns that have funky stuff like sparkles, and bobbles.. The bookshelves also hold all of those really nice yarns that are waiting for the perfect project.

All in all I'm happy with the progress. Still more to do but I'm back to feeling inspired again. And that's the real goal.

Happy Organizing!
